Unifying a NYC portfolio
We’ve developed a holistic Environmental Branding scheme for Sage’s six buildings in Manhattan, New York City. The work includes a new Wayfinding and Signage system designed to reflect their new brand and unify the properties, elevating their status as inspiring workplaces. The premium properties span the area between 437 Madison Avenue — a stone’s throw from the Rockefeller Centre — via a three-block stretch of Third Avenue in the Grand Central Business District down to the Financial District, with a stop in the Meatpacking District along the way.
The Sage experience
The work is inspired by Sage’s vision to enrich the lives of people at work, led by their 4th generation leader and CEO, Jonathan Iger. The strategy emphasises workplaces as branded experiences seamlessly integrated with the principles of hospitality, all thoughtfully crafted to foster human flourishing. Referencing this, and the foundational elements of the Sage brand, we’ve created and documented a sophisticated and consistent internal and external Branded Wayfinding blueprint.
A new standard
Our work is meticulously crafted to align with the interiors of the 'Oasis' amenity spaces within the properties, designed by Fogarty Finger. Our designs achieve a delicate balance between minimalism and purpose, enhancing Sage’s identity by creating distinctive moments of celebration and navigation. These elements flow naturally through Sage’s portfolio of New York properties, setting a new standard for workplace environments.
Bold mid-century sensibility
Our Guidelines provide a set of tools and protocols to deliver a highly cohesive signage and wayfinding system that integrates into all current and future properties. They outline how the brand’s strong geometric typography and bold mid-century design sensibility is represented in signage along every visitor journey. We undertook an on-site audit of each individual property, then designed the signage and wayfinding system across each, assisting Sage with delivery through to implementation.
